We are excited to share that Larkmead School was a finalist in the ‘Schools Award’ category at the recent inaugural Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2017. Although just missing out on the main award, they were ‘highly commended’. The award recognised the pivotal role that the school plays in supporting and signposting students towards local apprenticeship opportunities.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2017 students in Years 10 – 13 have been learning about apprenticeship opportunities. Students were shown how to access information on apprenticeships and the benefits of technology-related apprenticeships for the digital era. Each week lists of local apprenticeship vacancies are sent out to students, who are also supported by monthly visits from the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Team who run drop in sessions.
