In 2023 the Vale Academy Trust is proud to be celebrating its 10th anniversary of building brilliant futures together.

Trust Safeguarding Lead
Starting 1st Sept 2023. Permanent, 37 hours per week, Term time plus 4 weeks
Salary: NJC Grade 10 £33,820 - £36,298 per annum FTE (Actual salary in the region £31,972 - £34,315 per annum)
Vale Academy Trust and Faringdon Learning Trust are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Lead with experience and understanding of working with/within Children's Services. This role will involve working across our Trusts' Schools to lead on Child Protection and advise on cases where children and their families are being supported by External Agencies. You will promote safeguarding procedures and legislation across the Trusts, and deliver training to our employees and school Governors around aspects of children's services intervention.
Key requirements for this role include:
- Current, detailed knowledge of child protection pathways and processes;
- Ability to liaise closely with Head teachers to provide expert advice on safeguarding matters;
- Experience and understanding of service provision to vulnerable children and their families; and
- Experience of managing own caseload, attending and providing updates at case reviews.
In addition, you will be highly organised, emotionally resilient, and be able to prioritise conflicting priorities in your work. Experience working with an educational setting is desirable, though not essential.
The post holder will be required to visit multiple school sites across Faringdon, Abingdon, Wantage and surrounding area.

Trust Operations Officer
30 hours per week NJC Grade 8 £27,344 - £30,151 per annum FTE

Vale Academy Trust (VAT) are seeking to appoint an Operations Officer to support with day-to-day administration and reporting on Facilities, Compliance and Health and Safety across the schools within the Vale Academy Trust and Faringdon Learning Trust (FLT).
Work Location: Faringdon but will work across the Wantage, Faringdon and Abingdon areas
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week NJC Grade 8 £27,344 - £30,151 per annum FTE
(Actual salary in the region of £22,170 - £24,446 per annum)

This role is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across VAT and FLT. Over recent years, our two Trusts have worked together across a range of different areas and benefited from one another’s experience. With this role, we have an opportunity to build on this collaboration, to help support the provision of a healthy, safe and sustainable environment for outstanding teaching and learning in our community.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- The ability, through demonstratable administration experience, to effectively support the Trust and its Schools with their responsibilities in health and safety, with a keen eye for detail to monitor performance in these areas;
- Understanding of Health and Safety principles, or a willingness to develop in this area;
- Excellent communication, numeracy, literacy and ICT skills;
- A background in or willingness to undertake report writing and data analysis across a range of areas, to support with health and safety, contracts and project management;
- Strong organisational skills, with a solutions-focused and self-motivated approach to tasks;
A vision and commitment to supporting the development of an organisational culture in which health and safety is prioritised and informs strategy, planning and decision-making. A full Job Description can be accessed below.
